DAY6's Epic Concert <Welcome to the Show> Thrills Fans

DAY6 held a single concert, "DAY6 CONCERT <Welcome to the Show>," from April 12-14 at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. 

 

Tickets for this concert, which was held about four months after the Christmas special concert "DAY6 Christmas Special Concert 'The Present: You are My Day'" on December 22-24, 2023, exceeded a record-breaking figure of about 2 million traffic since the general advance ticket sales opened, and a total of 33,000 seats based on 11,000 seats per venue were sold out for the entire concert, and additional open seats were also sold out, mobilizing a total of 34,000 audience members, demonstrating DAY6's strong ticket power.

 

On the 14th, the final day of the performance, the concert was simultaneously streamed live online via the Beyond LIVE platform.

Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Doneun kicked off their epic performance with "Welcome to the Show," the title track of their full-length album "Forever," which was released on March 18 after three years of military service. The four members hand-crafted the concert setlist and sang songs that go well with spring, such as "Better Better," "Barae," "DANCE DANCE," and "Somehow," to convey the happiness of Cherry Blossom Con.

 

In particular, this performance attracted the largest audience of DAY6's previous concerts as the seats were opened 360 degrees around the stage and the capacity of the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium was maximized. The members said, "As I always say, a DAY6 concert is only complete when it's with My Day (fandom name: My Day). A 360-degree open concert is something DAY6 has always dreamed of doing, but it's the first time we've ever done it, so we took on new challenges from the beginning of the planning process. The experience of having so many people's voices and cheers gather in the center of the stage was truly thrilling. The lights of the pom-poms that filled the venue were also breathtaking. We're happy that we've been able to fulfill our wish to show and tell you how we see you and your songs every time we perform," he said.

The crowd thundered as the new songs from the new album were played, including "HAPPY," "The Power of Love," "My Brain Without You (Get The Hell Out)," "The Only Sad Ending," "Let Me Love You," and "I Didn't Know It Was Your Love. Representative songs such as "Happy Days" and "Sweet Chaos," as well as "Pretty" and "I Can Become a Page," which recently made a double comeback on major music charts, led the chorus, and the beautiful singing of the audience from the standing seats on the first floor to the seats on the second and third floors was electrifying.

DAY6 prepared a large electronic board with lyrics to communicate with the audience and created a three-dimensional sense of space with rich sound production to enjoy the thrilling sound of the band's instruments. The stage, designed with the group's logo, rotated in a 360-degree circle, creating a superlative performance that allowed the audience to communicate with the music from any angle.

 

In addition, DAY6 played instruments and MYDAY sang, completing the concert as a 'band', which increased the satisfaction level. During the encore, the members walked around the audience and made eye contact with the fans, writing an unforgettable page of memories for DAY6 and MYDAY.
