"The Roundup: Punishment" has been pre-sold to 164 countries around the world before its domestic release, marking the largest overseas sales for the series.
"The Roundup: Punishment" follows the crime-fighting exploits of monster detective Ma Seok-do (Ma Dong-seok), along with the returning Jang Yi-soo (Park Ji-hwan), a special forces mercenary who runs a large-scale online illegal gambling organization, and the Kwangsoo-dae & Cyber Team, against the villainous Baek Chang-gi (Kim Moo-yeol) and the IT industry genius CEO Jang Dong-Chul (Lee Dong-hwi).
The Roundup: Punishment is making history once again after becoming the first Korean series film to be invited to the Berlinale Special Gala at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in February. With its domestic release on the 24th, the film has been pre-sold in 164 countries around the world, a remarkable feat that has only grown with each installment, proving that the ' The Roundup' series is one of Korea's most beloved action series around the world.
After 'The Roundup 2' was pre-sold in 132 countries and 'The Roundup 3' was pre-sold in 158 countries, 'The Roundup: Punishment' broke the sales record of the previous series and pre-sold in 164 countries, the largest pre-sale of the series, so we are already looking forward to its global box office record.
With pre-sales in 164 countries, 'The Roundup: Punishment' is set to open in Korea on April 24 and will quickly follow suit overseas. Starting with Indonesia (April 24), the film is scheduled to open in Australia & New Zealand (April 25), Taiwan & Mongolia (April 26), Hong Kong & Singapore (May 1), Malaysia & Brunei (May 2), North America & UK (May 3), Cambodia (May 14), Thailand (May 30), and more.
